Regional Youth Advisory Council
Meet the youth behind Teen Summit
The Regional Youth Advisory Council (RYAC) was formed in 2023 by the Regional Teen Summit Steering Committee to assist in the planning of Teen Summit RVA 2024 and to design and plan regional initiatives and activities that are “for youth, by youth”.
The Regional Youth Advisory Council serves as advocates, peer mentors, group leaders, and/or educators to youth-serving organizations and adults; conduct research or assessments on current youth violence and mental health issues; and develop standards or a performance matrix to evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s programs. The major initiative of the RYAC is to plan and help in the execution of the annual Teen Summit RVA.
